Drivers Education is available to USD 490 students who are age eligible
by Kansas Law and to out-of-district students if space is available. The
class is filled by age prioritization to those who make application
prior to March 30 for virtual classes and May 4 for summer coursework.
The course requires two components: classroom and driving.
opportunities for the classroom component will be offered. The first, a
virtual course, will be conducted April 8 – May 17, with on-site,
supervised tests. The second, will be conducted from 9-11 a.m. or 12-2
p.m., June 3-27, Monday through Thursday, also at EHS. Pupil teacher
ratio for classroom component is 1:20.
The driving portion of the
course will be conducted June 3 – July 18 and is by appointment,
scheduled through the instructor. Pupil teacher ratio for driving is
1:3. USD 490 student fee for both components, combined, is $100,
prepaid, with fees waived for students on free lunch and reduced by 50%
for students on reduced lunch. Out-of-district students may enroll if
