USD 490 elementary students accepted to All-State Honor Choir
Elementary students chosen for all-state choir
Four USD 490 elementary students were selected to join an All-State Honor Choir.

Sophia Crawford, Chloe Iverson, Addison Penner, and Izzy Todd sang My Country Tis of Thee and Grandview Music Teacher Sheri Crawford submitted the recording to the Kansas Music Educators Association. Only 158 students were selected from across the state of Kansas.

The All-State Elementary Choir consists of students from grades three through five, who will rehearse for one day of the annual KMEA conference with a special clinician before performing as a group. This year's clinician is Marilyn Killian.

"It is an honor for our students to be chosen for this amazing opportunity," Mrs. Crawford said. "Our students will get to sing two-part music, which is a difficult skill for third through fifth grade students."

The concert will be Thursday, February 27, in the Concert Hall at Century II Convention Center in Wichita. Tickets are available beginning mid-January.
