PIE establishes new Marjorie L. Tiner Memorial Fund
By Rod Blackburn
The family and friends of Marjorie Tiner have endowed a fund with Partners In Education Foundation (PIE) to honor Marjorie’s 35 years of service as an elementary educator.
After teaching briefly in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Bushton, Kansas, she taught for 31 years in El Dorado at Jefferson, Washington and Skelly Elementary schools.
Her love for reading inspired her family and friends to establish a fund that
supplies reading materials for generations. This fund will provide monies to the Blackmore and Skelly elementary libraries to purchase books for students in grade levels first through third.
The endowed fund provides this support to Skelly in the even-numbered years and Blackmore on the odd-numbered years. In addition to the endowed fund support, the Tiner family is providing immediate pass-through support on the same time frame.
This year, the pass-through support is $2,220 to the Skelly Elementary library. This fund remains open to the public for future donations.
Partners In Education Foundation is a not for profit foundation established in 1989 to enhance the educational opportunities for the students of USD 490. For more information contact Rod Blackburn, Development Director at email@example.com
