The new Sam Binter Tennis Complex was officially opened during a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on September 11.
Although the courts have been used since their completion at the end of August, the Chamber of Commerce organized a ribbon cutting to formally announce the project completion.
Named for local tennis enthusiast and former coach Sam Binter, the new tennis and pickle ball courts were a joint project between the City of El Dorado and USD 490.
"This is a great example of the partnerships enjoyed in our community," Mayor Vince Haines said. "These partnerships are important for enhancing the quality of life in El Dorado for all of our community members."
After remarks from Mayor Haines and Superintendent Teresa Tosh, USD 490 Board President Norm Wilks joined Haines in cutting the ribbon. The El Dorado High School Drumline performed a few songs to help celebrate the occasion.
