EHS students participate in ESSDACK Career Expo
EHS students attended the ESSDACK Career & Post-Secondary Expo in Hutchinson on November 6.
The purpose of the expo was to allow students to explore a wide variety of options for college, career, and other post-secondary opportunities and increase their awareness and knowledge about the path they are planning to take.
More than 160 booths offered information about careers, apprenticeships, colleges and trade schools.
A variety of career fields were represented such as Agriculture, Business, Design Production & Repair, Health, Family & Consumer Science, Media & Technology, and Public Services. Each booth described the education or training necessary for that career choice, the average salary, and what the representatives enjoyed most about that particular career. Many offered hand-on activities to allow students to "test-drive" the career.
This college and career expo was a fun and informative way to help students identify their post-secondary interests so they can tailor their final high school years to prepare them for their intended path.
