We are sorry to have to announce that we will not be able to hold the July 11 traditional graduation ceremony as we had hoped.
We have been working with district administration and local health officials to gather information to help guide us in making the decision that is best for our graduates, their families, and our community. In making this decision we had to take into account the safety of our graduates, their families, and school personnel as well as the threat that having such a large gathering could make to the timely start of our coming school year.
This was not the result that we wanted. However, when faced with the harsh realities of our current situation at the local, state, and national level it became clear that the most responsible decision was to cancel the ceremony. With the state recommendation to remain in Phase 3, there is no feasible way to hold the ceremony that would see over 1000 people gathering together.
With the cancellation of the ceremony, we anticipate a great deal of questions. The EHS Graduation Information Website has been updated with an FAQ section to address the most frequently asked questions. We have done our best to anticipate what some of those questions will be already. If you have questions that are not addressed on the FAQ, please email Bruce Lolling at email@example.com and he will address them.
The site also has the links to the Senior Award Ceremony and the Graduation Preview videos that were live-streamed in May to celebrate the hard work and achievements of the EHS class of 2020.
To pick up ceremony programs, mugs, diplomas, or photographs please call the District Office at 316-322-4800 and make an appointment. Items should be available after 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13.
