Note from the Principal

As we head into our last month of the 2011-12 school year, Lincoln Elementary students face the excitement of many out of building Science and Social Studies field trips. Third graders will experience a recycling study that includes our city’s compost area and the landfill, along with a view of the El Dorado Lake Dam. Fourth graders will explore the Klausmeyer Dairy Farm in Clearwater and experience the underground Hutchinson Salt Mines. Grade 5 students have toured the middle school and dined in the EMS Cafeteria to ease their way into next year’s transition to the middle school setting. Fifth graders also took a trip to Abilene and toured the Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum and Russell Stover’s Chocolate Factory. These opportunities continue to give our students small glimpses of the real-life historical values within our great state of Kansas. Upcoming events will give cause to celebrate our year’s accomplishments and we hope you are able to attend Lincoln’s exciting year-end activities. Stay tuned for reminders of each time and date.
—Educationally yours, Mrs. Linda Johnson, Lincoln Principal

School Bell Award
Nominate a teacher for the School Bell Award.

The El Dorado Chamber of Commerce has long recognized the great contributions teachers make in the lives of our youth and in the fostering of future leaders in our communities, state and nation.  Most successful people would say they have been profoundly influenced by the care, dedication, wisdom and enthusiasm of one or more teachers in their lives.  It is for this reason that the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce annually recognizes teachers who exemplify the highest standards of the teaching profession.

School Bell Award forms are available in Lincoln’s school office.  Nominations are due to the Chamber of Commerce by May 21, 2012.

Please call the Lincoln office if you will be available to help with our BBQ Lunch Cookout, Play Day Stations, or will donate supplies for snack breaks.
