We continue to focus on student achievement. Each month, students are taking formative tests during their math and reading classes. These formatives gauge how well students are doing on concepts being taught in the classroom and whether students need additional teaching or whether they are have mastered concepts. This type of assessment is important as we start looking at the Kansas State Assessment. The testing schedule is as follows for EMS. All testing will take place during second hour for all subjects from 9:00-10:00. Please try to avoid scheduling appointments during this time. Social Studies 8th grade – February 16th and 17th Science 7th grade – February 21st and 22nd Social Studies 6th grade - February 23rd and 24th For Kansas State Assessments in reading and math, EMS will use formative data to determine which date students will take the assessment. If students have mastered concepts, they will test in Wave 1. Students needing a little more time for instruction will test during Wave 2. WAVE 1 8th grade – Feb. 27-March 5th 7th grade – March 1st- March 8th 6th grade – March 6th-March 14th WAVE 2 8th grade – March 26th-April 2nd 7th grade – March 29th-April 10th 6th grade – April 4th – April 13th
