BOND CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

•New Skelly School: Painting is finished and workers are hanging the ceiling grids and ceiling tiles in the 2nd-5th grade classroom areas. The punch list for these areas of the building will be complete around June 21st.
Installation of sheetrock and ductwork in the administration wing will be complete by May 4th. Plumbing rough-in is underway in the gym restrooms. All exterior glass has been installed and the remainder of the exterior doors will in place by mid-May. Work has begun on the retaining walls at the southwest corner of the building and along Arthur Street.
The construction site was recently selected for a random OSHA inspection and passed with flying colors with no violations or write-ups.
Demolition of the old building will start June 1st and be finished a few days after that. Excavation for the foundation of the remainder of the entryway and the parking lots on the east side of the building will begin around June 5th.
• New Middle School: April 16th construction began on the new middle school site. The top soil has been stripped off the building site and work has begun on the parking lot which will serve as temporary parking for construction workers. Next, work will begin on the building pad and in late May piers will be drilled and grade beams poured between the piers. Workers will start pouring the concrete foundation in late May.
SECOND ANNUAL FOOTBALL FUNDRAISER IS JUNE 23, 2012
The USD 490 football program will hold its second annual Rent-a-Wildcat Fundraiser on Saturday, June 23rd at 8:00 a.m. Players will prepare breakfast for parents and community members in the EHS foods classroom. Following breakfast there will be a theme basket auction and at 9:30 a.m. community members can rent football players for $10 an hour to perform chores such as mowing, yard work, moving and painting. |

SWIMMERS QUALIFY FOR STATE MEET
Ashley Call, Taylor Harker, Baylie Harsh, Hannah Helferich, Jade Johnson, Riley Paye, Kerstin Pierce and Quincy Yeubanks qualified for the State Swim Meet. Prelims are on Friday, May 18, and Finals are on Saturday, May 19, at Hummer Natatorium in Topeka.
