Congratulations to Enoch Snider for being our February Student of the Month!

Parent Teacher Conferences & Pre-Enrollment

Spring conferences will be held Tuesday, March 9th from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, March 11th from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Pre-enrollment will also be conducted at this time. Please attend your child’s conference at the scheduled time.

Bingo Night

The date for Bingo Night has been changed! It will be held on Friday, April 9th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the EHS commons. This is a change from the district calendar. Come share in a night of food and fun! There’s lots of room, so bring your family and friends!  You will be receiving info about your homeroom basket in the near future. See you there!

Note from the Principal

It’s a busy time of the year, lots of things going on here at school.  We have begun state testing and the students are doing a great job!  We will have Parent/Teacher conferences coming up in March along with spring break.  You will be receiving notes from your student’s teacher scheduling conferences.  Please send back the notes or let the teachers know if the times scheduled will work in your schedule.  We would love to have 100% attendance for the spring conferences.  If you have questions for the teacher, be sure to write them down before coming to conferences.  I would like to remind you that the teachers schedule 20 minutes for each conference and we need to stay on their schedule.  Try to arrive early so we can stay on time.  We will also have a parent survey and Pre-Enrollment forms for next year’s 4th & 5th graders for you to fill out. We would appreciate if you will fill it out and return them to the front table before you leave.

Reminder: We will not have school on Thursday March 11th because of having conferences all day.  School will not be in session on March 12, which is the start of spring break.  I hope everyone has a restful and safe spring break!  We will be back in school on March 22nd and will resume testing shortly after that.

Partners in Education Spring Fundraising Event

The PIE skating party will be held on April 24th.  PIE representatives will be at each school the week of March 1 to talk to students briefly and tell them about the event. We will also be sending packets home with them so they will have them over spring break.

2009 Conservation Contest Winners

Washington 4th Grade classes entered the 2009 Conservation Poster and Limerick Contest. The theme was “Dig It, The Secrets of Soil”. Poster winners from Washington were:

Rachel Evans – Second Place
Logan Phillips – Third Place

Kiwanis Science Fair

The Kiwanis  Science Fair was held on Friday, February 26th. A big “Thank you” to all students who participated and Congratulations to all of the winners! Also, thanks to the Kiwanis and USD 490 for making the Science Fair possible!

January Box Top Winners

Our January Box Top collection brought in $91.10. We will collect again on April 30th.
