Note from Mrs. Clites
The staff at Jefferson is wishing each family a great holiday season. Take the time to enjoy each other, play the games from under the tree, and curl up in a blanket and read a good book. I think that is what the staff members have planned.

I know we will all return with renewed energy. The students will be anxious for the second semester to begin. We look forward to seeing how much they have all grown during the break.

Mark your February Calendar
Jefferson Night at the EHS basketball game! On February 3rd at the EHS basketball game we will be recognized during the game. Along with Lincoln Elementary, Jefferson will have a designated section to sit during the game. We will all wear our Jefferson t-shirts and cheer loudly. Students are admitted free with their t-shirt, but must attend with an adult. It will be a great night to all sit togehter and cheer on the Wildcats. Hope to see you there.

PTO News

We will be making a location switch for the second semester. The PTO will meet at Lincoln Elementary during the spring semester. The meetings will continue to begin at 6:30 p.m. and all are listed on the district calendar. Our January meeting will be on January 5th. We will meet in the Lincoln gym. This is not a school day so make a note on your calendar.

Winter Chills

As we return, please make sure your children dress each day with their coat, hats and gloves. We will be going outdoors to recess unless the wind chill is below 20 degrees. Other reasons that may keep us indoors would be rain, snow, etc. It is important for the children to have a breath of fresh air during the day if at all possible. Those January winds can be chilly.

Report Cards

Report cards will be mailed on Wednesday, January 7th. Please be watching for them!

Say Cheese

It is hard to imagine a "spring" picture in January, however, that is when we have pictures scheduled. Pictures will be January 28th. This is the picture package that will go home for a preview before purchase. The spring photos are a little more relaxed and usually have a great background. Look for information from the photo company coming soon.

Special Thanks

The KZSN Toy Drive was once again a success in the El Dorado community. Our students donated almost 50 toys. The second grade classes represented us well when taking the toys to the drop site at Wal-Mart. Thank you to all the families who were able to participate. Many of the district and school staff members volunteered to go to the Salvation Army during the week of Dec. 15-19 to help sort the toys to be delivered to families. It is heartwarming to see the community working so well to show support.

Current Address and Phone Numbers

We want to remind you to keep the office informed on address changes, changes in phone numbers and emergency contacts. We really need to have this information in case of emergencies!

Yearbooks

Yearbooks will be on sale soon. We will be sending home an informational note and order form. This is such a great way to remember the early years of school. The yearbook will include the fall photo and many candid photos of the students throughout the year.
