Note from the Principal

Can you believe it is time to wind our 2011-2012 school year down? Our Grandview Gators have worked hard to learn their grade level objectives this school year and deserve a great summer break. We hope that everyone has a safe and happy summer!

The month of May will be extra busy as we wrap up the school year. Please be sure to check the calendar of events.

Important Reminders:
•All library books are due Friday, May 11th.
•No charges are permitted for school meals during the month of May. Any funds remaining in a student’s account will be credited to that student’s account for the following school year.
•Fifth grade Awards Assembly will be held from 8:30 – 9:30 on May 23rd in the Grandview gym. Parents are invited to join us. A Powerpoint presentation will be shared for our fifth grade Gators.

PTO News

As this year comes to a close, there are still a few important dates and events to remember.
Yearbook for 2011-2012
The yearbook is in the final stages of completion. You can still purchase your child’s yearbook for $10 by filling out your order form or you may find additional order forms in the office. If you have pictures that might be a good addition to the yearbook, you can email them to Sharon Wilkinson at sharonwilkinson@ajhospitality.com to be considered for the yearbook.
Teacher Appreciation
Teacher Appreciation week is May 7-11 and is a wonderful time to let our teachers and staff know how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication this year. Look for information to come home about how you and your students can get involved during this fun week.
Play Day
The last day of school is fast approaching which can only mean one thing, PLAY DAY! Play Day is scheduled for May 23rd at 9:30am. If you would like to volunteer, please contact the school office.

Grandview Gator Fun Night

OVER 400 IN ATTENDANCE
Oh, what a fun night it was. We are excited to share that we had over 400 people at this year’s fun night. We hope you had as much fun attending as we did planning.

Thank you to all who donated food, giveaways, and their time to make this event a success. Thank you to the Kindergarten parents who provided the delicious desserts. Thank you to all the people who made incredible cakes and cupcakes for the Cake Walk.

Becky Wernli won best in show for her Angry Birds. Amanda Harms won best in show for her incredible 3130 cupcakes. Dania Crawford received second for her M’M cakes and Danielle Heilman won second place for her Mickey Mouse Cake.

We owe a special thanks to the high school drum line for their fantastic performance. Also, we thank the Butler Grizzly Mascot for his guest appearance.
A special thank you goes to Jennifer Brown and Vicki Manke for all their assistance to help make fun night great. Grandview has the best administrative assistants of anyone.

Words cannot express enough gratitude to Emma Trier, Danielle Heilman, Jennifer Gannon and Sheri Crawford. They were amazing through the entire process of ideas, collection, design, and implementation of Fun Night. If you see them around, please give them a heartfelt thank you.

Thank you to all of our businesses and individuals who sponsored our booths. Their generosity allowed us to provide bigger games and great giveaways.

Lastly, it was great to see all of our Grandview students running around with big smiles on their faces having a great time together and spending time with their families. We look forward to next year’s Fun Night.
