Sports Passes Prices and Purchase Form


Wildcat Powerlifters:
Eleven El Dorado student athletes competed at the second annual Augusta Powerlifting Meet on Saturday, January 28. In the competition, were 287 lifters from approximately 25 different schools throughout Kansas competing in the bench press, back squat and hang clean. Several EHS athletes achieved personal bests in all lifts. Junior Quentin Cluster took 3rd overall in the heavyweight men’s division recording a squat of 425, clean of 245 and bench press of 275. Junior Trace Johnson hang cleaned 235 in the 165-pound division, placing second. Other notable performances were sophomore Andrew Campos—315 in the squat; junior Kyle Call—225 in the hang clean; sophomore Seth Head—260 in the back squat; senior Mayte Garcia—120 in the bench and 115 in the clean. The eleven lifters who competed have been attending the after-school weight program since November. El Dorado athletes will next be competing in the Conway Springs meet on March 10.

Congratulations EHS!  For the fourth year in a row, El Dorado High School has been selected as an Apple Distinguished School. EHS is one of only 56 schools that Apple is recognizing nationwide this year.

At the Kapaun tournament on January 27th, El Dorado took 2nd place as a team in
Sweepstakes. Individual awards went to:

Nick Fowler: 3rd Place Varsity House 1
Kristina Brown: 1st Place Varsity House 2
Autumn Lister: 6th Place Novice House 1
Dakota Yates: 1st Place Novice House 1

EHS Debate Team Wins State Championship

El Dorado's team of Allie McKibban, Ren Dashner and Stephen Smith on Negative, and Aaron Turner, Dakota Yates and Whitney Koerner on Affirmative is 4-Speaker Debate State Champion. The team went 11-­3, winning 28 ballots. Fort Scott was second with 9 wins and 5 losses. Buhler was 3rd with 8 wins and 6 losses. EHS took the early lead and maintained first place throughout every round except round 6, where they were tied for first with Fort Scott, but the EHS team beat them head to head in the final round to take back sole position of first. EHS beat the second and third place teams on both sides of the issue.

In the 2-Speaker division, the team of Autumn Lister and Skylar Blackburn missed clearing into out rounds by 1 speaker point. They went 4 and 2, which put them in 17th place out of 72 teams in the division.
