Graduation Requirements

El Dorado High School Graduation Requirements

Requirements for Class of 2012:
To be awarded a diploma signifying graduation from El Dorado High School, a student must have satisfactorily completed 23.5 units of credit.

Of the credits needed for graduation, passing grades must be earned in the following required courses:
1. FOUR credits of Language Arts which must include:
a. English 9/Honors English 9 (1 unit of credit)
b. English 10/Honors English 10 (1 unit of credit)
c. English 11/Honors English 11 (1 unit of credit)
d. English 12/Honors English 12/Comp I (1 unit of credit)
2. THREE credits of Mathematics
3. THREE credits of Science which must include:
a. Integrated Science or Honors Integrated Science (1 unit of credit)
b. Biology or Advanced Biology (1 unit of credit)
4. THREE credits of Social Sciences which must include:
A. World Geography (1/2 unit of credit)
b. World History (1/2 unit of credit)
c. American History/Advanced U.S. History (1 unit of credit)
d. US Government (1/2 unit of credit)
5. ONE credit of Physical Education which must include:
a. PE 9 (1/2 unit of credit)
b. PE 10 (1/2 unit of credit)
6. ONE-HALF credit of Computer Elective (must be a computer class)
7. ONE-HALF credit of Practical Arts (Industrial Technology OR Family and Consumer Science) elective
8. ONE credit of Fine Arts (Art, Music, Drama, Speech, Debate, or Forensics) elective
a. 1/2 credit of Art, Music, or Drama
b. 1/2 credit of Speech, Debate, or Forensics
9. One-half credit of Health
The above requirements total 16.5 credits. A minimum of an additional 7 units elective credit must be completed to total the 23.5 credits required for graduation from El Dorado High School.

To be awarded a diploma signifying graduation from El Dorado High School, a student must have satisfactorily completed 23.5 units of credit.

B. 1/2 credit of Speech, Debate, or Forensics
9. One-half credit of Health
