USD 490 third grade students receive dictionary from El Dorado Rotary
The El Dorado Rotary delivered dictionaries to all third grade students in El Dorado on November 8.
Several Rotary members visited Grandview, Lincoln, and Skelly to present the dictionaries to students. They introduced themselves and explained the Rotary’s 4-Way Test: Is it true? Does it build goodwill and better friendships? Is it fair? Is it beneficial to all concerned?
Each dictionary has a place for students to write their name and the 4-Way Test is printed in the front cover. A letter from Rotary President Trent Garner also accompanied each dictionary.
Students were excited to receive their own dictionary and immediately began looking through the vibrant pages. Rotary member Bernie Spradling asked students to look up the word "freedom" in honor of Veterans Day.
Along with definitions, the dictionaries contain pictures, maps, and a list of past U.S. presidents among other helpful resources.
