EHS students compete at state tournament
Eighteen EHS students qualified to compete at the state Forensics tournament on May 6. Each school is only allowed 16 entries, so EHS entered fifteen students in the 16 events.

The Improvised Duet Acting team of David and Josh Staats placed sixth.

The teams of Ben Barker/David Staats and Maria Whitmer/Brady Hastings made it to the semifinal round in Duo Interpretation.

Maria Whitmer made it to the semifinal round in Humorous Interpretation.

Other EHS students who competed at the state tournament included: David Williams, Hudson Vaught, Myranda Drake, Erica Tipton, Christian McCoy, Isabelle Haahr, Brady Hastings, Seth Klayson, Selah Klayson, Cooper Crawford, and Daniel Farthing.

Randi Freeman, Cheyenne Gordon, and Shawn Palmer also qualified but did not attend the tournament.

The debate/forensics team earned 121 individual medals during the season. Thirty-eight out of the twenty-eight team members received at least one individual medal. The team also earned five sweepstakes trophies and seven students qualified to compete at national tournaments.

The NCFL Grand National tournament will take place over Memorial weekend, and the NSDA national tournament will take place the third week of June.
