EHS hosts Futures Fair
EHS hosted a Futures Fair for grades 8-12 on April 10. Community volunteers visited EHS to speak to students about their professions and what type of education it took to work in their field.
Students were able to choose four sessions to attend. Approximately 62 professions were represented. A wide variety of career specialists were in attendance, including military, emergency and police, education, engineering and forensic science, welding and manufacturing, acting, engraving, graphic design, media broadcasting, and family counseling among many others.
The annual Futures Fair is designed to give students a preview of a variety of careers that they may not have considered before. Guest speakers are able to answer questions that students may have about the degree required or types of coursework that are beneficial if a student wants to pursue that career.
This engaging activity is aligned with other efforts to help students identify a plan of study that students will enjoy and want to continue to pursue after graduating high school.
