EHS Debate earns spot in prestigious 100 Club
The high school debate team has earned a spot in the National Speech & Debate Association’s prestigious 100 Club. They are ranked in the top 21 percent of schools nationwide.
The 100 Club is for debate teams that achieve a total of 100 or more degrees based on competitive and service-related activities. This milestone demonstrates outstanding commitment to teaching students essential life skills including communication, research, listening, writing, and organization.
Four debate students competed at the regional debate tournament on December 15 and 16. Myranda Drake, Taylor Willis, Luke Walker, and Breckin Olson placed fourth as a team.
Drake, Willis, and Walker qualified to compete in Two-Speaker debate at the state competition on January 12 and 13 in Coffeyville. Since only two students could actually compete, the two third year competitors (Drake and Willis) represented EHS.
