 A Winning Record
• Last year, in addition to 22 Standards of Excellence in state testing, students received national recognition in forensics and art; and continued to garner individual, state and regional championships and awards in programs that foster excellence in the district: art; bowling; cross country; debate, drama & forensics; instrumental & vocal music; math, geography & science; swimming; track; and wrestling.
• Character education initiatives in Character Counts (middle school), Kansas Character Education (high school) and Social Smarts (elementary) continued and were further supported by required service projects and positive behavior incentives.
• EHS was awarded the Apple Distinguished School Award for the third consecutive year, honoring excellence and leadership in technology. District staff presented at state and national conventions in the areas of technology, positive behavior support, classroom observation, and multi-tiered systems of support. Likewise, professional staff represented their peers in a number of leadership positions in state professional organizations.
